MERCERSBURG, Pa. - A crisis team will be available to James Buchanan High School students who lost a 16-year-old classmate in an accident after classes dismissed Friday.

Emma-Lee R. Abrell of 8511 Fort Loudon Road was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m. at the scene of a single-vehicle accident in the 10090 block of Shimpstown Road, Franklin County (Pa.) Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner said.

Emma-Lee had been in a Franklin County Career and Technology Center program that was canceled, Tuscarora School District Superintendent Thomas Stapleford said. Emma-Lee transferred back to the high school as a junior and was working on entering another program at the career center, he said.

A special faculty meeting will be held this morning at the high school to discuss the loss. The guidance office and another room will be opened to students as drop-in centers, Stapleford said.

"We are pulling our middle school guidance counselor over to the high school in addition to our two guidance counselors at the high school," he said.

Pennsylvania State Police said Emma-Lee was driving a 1995 Dodge Dakota that hit a tree on the north side of the road.
