Region XX Tournament at HCC

Sammi Snodderly had 21 kills and nine digs as Hagerstown knocked off Frederick 30-19, 30-20 and Cecil 30-16, 30-16 in pool play at the Region XX Tournament.

Caitlyn Selby had 12 kills, Karey Toms had 10 kills and 22 assists, and Lauren Brown had eight kills, five aces, four blocks and 10 digs to lead the Hawks (32-12, 10-1).

China Miller had six kills and seven blocks and Jess Ambrose had 33 assists and seven digs for the Hawks, while Kim Snavely had 19 digs and Leah Drury added 15 digs.


Hagerstown will face College of Southern Maryland in the semifinals today at 11 a.m. The winner of that match will face the Essex-Frederick winner in the final at 1 p.m.

Shepherd wins pair of matches

ATHENS, W.Va. - Shepherd earned a pair of WVIAC wins Saturday, defeating Bluefield State 30-11, 30-16, 30-25 and beating Concord 30-11, 30-16, 30-25.

Ashlee Allen and Lauren Durbin each had eight kills while Kiira Cerasi added seven kills and six digs and Susanna Hill had six digs for the Rams against Bluefield State.

Cerasi and Kori Ford each had 12 kills while Hill tallied 13 digs and Cerasi added 10 for Shepherd (14-15, 12-5) against Concord.
