Greencastle wins in districts

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Fourth-seeded Greencastle shut out 13th-seeded Middletown (11-11) 3-0 on Wednesday, giving Scott Gelsinger his first PIAA District 3 Class AA playoff victory in his eighth year as head coach.

Treavor Gelsinger scored two goals and Evan Wiestling scored one for the Blue Devils (17-2).

Greencastle will play fifth-seeded Lancaster Mennonite (15-4-2) on Saturday.

Mercersburg 3, The Heights 3

POTOMAC, Md. - Myles Dowling, Tim Rahauser and Jordon Exeter each scored a goal as Mercersburg tied The Heights.

JV: The Heights, 2-1.

McConnellsburg 3, Chestnut Ridge 0

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Evan Mellott scored twice, Nathan Swope added a goal and Chance Carbaugh had four saves for McConnellsburg (16-3-1).

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Kristina Trudeau had three goals and Trisha Bassi had three assists to lead Mercersburg Academy.

Lauren Dobish added a goal for the Blue Storm (7-6-1), while Kate Vary and Ana Navarez each had an assist and Lizzy Loveland had six saves.
