MCTC employee is named to Job Corps Hall of Fame

October 25, 2006

Peggy Stanford, the Maryland Correctional Training Center's education supervisor, has been inducted into the National Job Corps Hall of Fame.

Stanford, the only recipient of the 2006 award, will be recognized at a ceremony Nov. 8 in Washington, D.C., at the annual National Conference, where she will be presented with a plaque and a $1,000 cash award.

Stanford has been employed at MCTC as the education supervisor for more than five years, and previously was a special education teacher.

Each year, recipients of the award are selected based upon employment-related achievement, which can be linked to Job Corps training as well as educational and community accomplishments.
