Two criminal justice labor unions have endorsed Del. John P. Donoghue, D-Washington, in his re-election bid against Republican Paul Muldowney.
In an Oct. 10 letter, Council 92 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees told Donoghue that it backs him.
The council represents state employees in fields such as corrections, parole and probation, and juvenile services. It includes correctional officers at the prisons south of Hagers-town and employees at Hagerstown's Potomac Center for people with mental disabilities.
In a letter two days later, Local 3373 of AFSCME's Council 67 endorsed Donoghue. Local 3373 represents Hagers-town police officers.
Donoghue is the incumbent in Subdistrict 2C.
