Auditions for 'Forever Plaid'



FREDERICK, Md. - Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre invites singing actors to audition for "Forever Plaid" at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23.

Roles are open for four male performers ages 20s or older. Those auditioning are asked to prepare 16 bars of music from both an uptempo song and a ballad and be ready to sing, read and dance. W.Va. fiction winner named



SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - Winners of the West Virginia New Writers Fiction Competition were announced at the Appalachian Heritage Festival concert held Friday, Oct. 6. The winning story, "Bump," was written by Suzanne Samples of Huntington, W.Va.

Samples received her award and the $500 prize from fiction and screenwriter Terry Kay, who led a week or classes and workshops at Shepherd University.

Other winners of the fiction competition included second place Jim Koenig, Harpers Ferry, W.Va. Finalists in the competition included Kathy Sholl of Shepherdstown and Jill Klowalski of Ranson, W.Va.
