TEDCO to hold briefing on state,federal funding programs at TIC

The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) will share details about technology transfer funding programs during a briefing in Hagerstown.

The briefing will be Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Technical Innovation Center (TIC) at Hagerstown Community College.

The state and federal funding programs provide financial support for the development of technologies for commercialization in collaboration with Maryland universities and federal laboratories. The programs include:

- Aberdeen Technology Transfer Initiative (ATTI)

- Fort Detrick Technology Transfer Initiative (FDTTI)

- Maryland Technology Transfer Fund (MTTF)

- University Technology Development Fund (UTDF)

- Working Capital Loan Fund (WCLF)

The briefing will provide descriptions of the various funding programs, including eligibility requirements, guidelines for effective proposals, proposal submission processes, review processes and terms of the agreements.


Applications for funding programs are accepted continually and reviewed monthly by the TEDCO funding review team, which includes representatives from TEDCO, the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development, affiliated venture capital groups and the Johnson & Johnson Corporate Office of Science and Technology. Applicants must submit a proposal, a commercialization plan for the technology to be developed, a scope of work and a budget.
