HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Justin Grantham and Dewey McDonald each scored two touchdowns to lead No. 4 Jefferson in a 41-7 rout of Hedgesville in a Cumberland Valley Athetic League game Friday.

In a first half that featured 30 points and no offensive touchdowns, Grantham returned two punts for touchdowns and McDonald returned an interception 61 yards for a touchdown to help Jefferson pull out to a 23-7 lead.

McDonald ran 69 yards for a touchdown on Jefferson's first possession of the second half.

Jonathan Frazier and Larry Shipley each added a rushing touchdown for the Cougars (5-3, 2-1).

Richard Lane put Hedgesville (2-6, 0-4) on the board with a 98-yard kickoff return in the first quarter. The Eagles' offense was held in check, totaling only 33 yards for the game.

Beall 36, Berkeley Springs 28

FROSTBURG, Md. - Beall's Pat Winebrenner ran 1 yard for a touchdown with 28 seconds left to break a 28-28 tie.


Winebrenner rushed for three TDs, including two in the fourth quarter as Beall (6-1) outscored Berkeley Springs 22-14 in the final period.

Nathan Sirbaugh had a 23-yard touchdown completion to Alex Moretz in the second quarter as the Indians (4-4) took a 14-7 lead and a 5-yard TD run with 1:47 left as they tied the game at 28-28.

Berkeley Springs took a 21-20 lead with 10:18 to play on Sam Byrne's 90-yard kickoff return.

Catoctin 59, Clear Spring 6

THURMONT, Md. - Darrel Doyle scored two touchdowns on runs of 16 and 57 yards as Catoctin cruised over Clear Spring in an MVAL Antietam game.

Nicholas Stiles scored on a 3-yard run and again on a 2-yard run, Robert Groft scored on a 13-yard run and Doyle connected with Bradley Kidd for a 65-yard TD pass and found Colton Eureka for a 23-yard TD pass for the Cougars (6-1).

Jesse Jarvis scored on a 45-yard run for the Blazers (1-6).
