St. John's Episcopal Church, the Rev. Scott Bellows will be preaching this Sunday at the 8 and 10:15 a.m. communion services. The children, youth and parish choirs will provide music at the later service.

Christian education classes for all ages begin at 9 a.m., including the adult forum discussing what are the millennium development goals.

St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Vicar Sadie Pounder will be preaching this Sunday at the 8:15 chapel and 10:30 a.m. services on the topic, Two Ways to Make a Square.

Pikeside United Methodist Church, Paynes Ford Road and U.S. 11, Martinsburg, W.Va., the Rev. Thomas Young Jr. will bring the message, Out of the Whirlwind, at the 8:30 and 10:35 a.m. services this Sunday.


Sunday School for all ages is at 9:15 a.m. Youth fellowship is at 6 p.m. Young will speak on Our Identity in Christ at the 7 p.m. service.

Bible study is Tuesday at 10 a.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Asbury United Methodist Church, Shepherdstown, W.Va., the Rev. Rudolph Bropleh will be speaking on Vitamins for Victorious Living at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday.

Wednesday at 7 p.m., youth fun night and Bible study will be held at the Shepherdstown Youth Center.

St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, the Rev. Mark C. Mooney will share a message on the topic, If I Were a Rich Man, at the 9:30 a.m. service this Sunday. A children's sermon with Mooney and his puppet friends will also highlight the morning service.

First Baptist Church, the Rev. Thom Smith will speak at the 11 a.m. service this Sunday on the topic, Worship, part II.

Christ Reformed UCC in Cavetown, the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday will feature the sermon topic, The Greatest!

St. Thomas' Episcopal Church, Hancock, this Sunday, Don Houck will installed as parish verger at the 10 a.m. service of Holy Eucharist.

A verger is a committed lay minister who assists the rector and other clergy in organizing public worship.

Assisting the Rev. Allen Weatherholt in the ceremony will be Steve McCarty, deacon, and Anjel Scarborough, seminarian.

Valley Assembly of God Christian Life Center, 17544 York Road, Hagerstown, this Sunday Pastor Robert C. Jones will be speaking at the 10 a.m. service. Friends Day will be observed with refreshments served on the grounds.

Tri-State Fellowship, 13153 Cearfoss Pike, Hagerstown, Pastor Randy Buchman will speak this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. on The Transformed Lives of Peter and John.

The Video Caf meets this Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and will feature live worship music and a video feed of the sermon.

Classes for infants through pre-kindergarten meets at 9:30 a.m.; kindergarten through fourth grade at 9:45 a.m., and fifth grade through adults at 11 a.m.

New Beginnings Community Church, corner of Dual Highway and Beaver Creek Road, Hagerstown, Pastor Scott Johnson will be preaching this Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service on the topic, A Stroll Through Mercy Hospital. There will be special music by Bety Snyder and LeAnne Stoneberger.

A music fest will be held at 6 p.m. this Sunday. A weenie roast will follow the event.

Shiloh United Methodist Church, Pastor Wayne Frum will bring the message this Sunday at the 9:15 a.m. service. The topic will be We Want.

Children's church is held during the service. Sunday school for all ages is at 10:40 a.m.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Sharpsburg, Seminarian Michael Simane will be speak at the 10 a.m. service this Sunday. The topic will be What's Leaking.

Trinity Lutheran Church, Smithsburg, Pastor Gerry Johnson will be speaking at the 8 and 10:30 a.m. communion services this Sunday on the topic, The Lord's Share. Special music will be provided by the bell choir, confirmation choir and children's choir.

There will be a fall festival at 2 p.m. at the firemen's carnival grounds.
