Haunted House

Irish music weekend

HARPERS FERRY, W.Va. - Learn to play Irish-style music in daytime workshops. Weekend classes start at 11 a.m. today and end at noon Sunday, Hilltop House Hotel. Concert featuring staff musicians and special guests, 8 p.m. Saturday, Harpers Ferry Intermediate School. Concert tickets cost $15, adults; $12, seniors; $10 for Shepherdstown Music and Dance members; and $6, for ages younger than 12. Applefest

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - The festival features 200 food, craft and nonprofit vendors. There will be a separate children's entertainment area with magic, puppet shows, story times and costumed characters. Entertainment includes folk singer Jay Smar; the Old MacDonald's Farm Heritage Show by Grammy Award nominee Ray Owen; Applefest Idol singing competition; Bayou Bandits performing zydeco; C.B. The event will feature 10 bands, including Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Lloyd Dobler Effect, Jah Works, Kelly Bell Band and Jarflys. 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.
