RIDGELEY, W.Va. - Frankfort scored the game-winning goal on a deflected cross with 3 minutes remaining in the second overtime to beat No. 5 Berkeley Springs 2-1 Thursday in the West Virginia Region II, Section 2 final.

Despite playing most of the game with a dislocated shoulder, Corrie Riffle scored the lone goal for the Indians (13-8-1).

"We had Corrie in there with the dislocated shoulder and then Megan Mock was playing on an injured leg," said Berkeley Springs coach Rocky Riffle. "It was the most heart I've seen out of any team ever."

The Indians scored early and led 1-0 until Frankfort evened the game to force overtime late in the second half.

Berkeley Springs defeated Petersburg in overtime 5-4 on Wednesday to earn a spot in the final against Frankfort.

No. 4 Smithsburg 3, W. Mill 0

SMITHSBURG - Bethany Garnand had 15 saves to record a shutout in her first varsity start in Smithsburg's win over Winters Mill.


Shelby Layman scored two goals and Tessa Doyle added one for the Leopards (11-2, 5-1). Katie Seifarth and Chelsea Hoover had one assist each.

JV: Smithsburg, 1-0.

South 2, Clear Spring 0

Aleah Kimmel and Christine Kantner each scored a goal and Brittany Shadrach had 10 saves as South Hagerstown (4-8-1, 2-6-1) shut out Clear Spring in an MVAL Antietam match.

JV: Clear Spring, 2-0.


No. 3 Greencastle 5, Waynesboro 1

WAYNESBORO, Pa.- Treavor Gelsinger and Evon Wiestling scored two goals each as Greencastle topped Waynesboro.

Mac Frederick scored a goal and Jon Zook had three saves for the Blue Devils (15-2).

Josh Newlin scored the Indians' only goal and Mike Mowen had 12 saves.

JV: Waynesboro, 2-1.

No. 5 Clear Spring 7, South 2

CLEAR SPRING - Francesco Scotto DiCarlo had three goals and an assist as Clear Spring defeated South Hagerstown in an MVAL Antietam match.

Alec Long had a goal and an assist, while Nick Smith, Jarret Martin and Roger Shoemaker each scored for the Blazers (9-4, 4-2).

Adam Reid had two assists and Elliot Reid had one, and Andrew Beadle had nine saves in the win.

Eric Nankeu and Matt Adam each scored for the Rebels.

Faith 2, Heritage 1

Chris Apple and Caleb Way each scored a goal as Faith defeated Heritage in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference match.

Derek Apple had eight saves for the Falcons.

Hamilton Stamper scored a goal and Travis Barthalow had seven saves for the Eagles (7-7-2, 4-7-1).

McConnellsburg 3, N. Bedford 0

LOYSBURG, Pa. - Tyler Swisher, Evan Mellott and Matt Kendle each scored a goal to lead McConnellsburg over Northern Bedford on Wednesday.

Jared Appleby, J.J. Grace and Ethan Cunningham each had an assist for the Spartans (14-3-1).

JV: Tied, 1-1.

Berk. Springs 6, Petersburg 0

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Josh Wise had two goals and three assists to lead Berkeley Springs over Petersburg in a West Virginia Region II, Section 2 semifinal match on Wednesday.

Devin Walsh and Peter Welch each had a goal and an assist and Matt Martin and Eric Duckwall each scored a goal for the Indians (9-7-5).


No. 3 Williamsport 3, Boonsboro 2

WILLIAMSPORT - Jessica Bennett had 14 kills, 24 digs and two aces as Williamsport edged Boonsboro, 25-16, 26-28, 24-26, 25-22, 15-9, in an MVAL Antietam match.

Brittany Horn had nine kills and seven blocks and Cara Scovitch had five kills and 13 digs for the Wildcats (10-4, 6-0), while Lindsey Kneisley had 19 assists and eight digs and Christine Barnes had 18 assists and eight digs.

Jerica Hewett led Boonsboro with 11 kills, seven blocks and 15 digs, while Brynn Arnone had eight kills and nine digs.

Emma Dalton had five kills, 13 digs and three blocks and Tara Garver added 23 assists for the Warriors (7-5, 2-2).

JV: Williamsport, 2-0.

Smithsburg 3, Clear Spring 1

CLEAR SPRING - Erika Mong had 15 service points, including five aces, as Smithsburg beat Clear Spring 25-21, 25-21, 19-25, 25-21 in an MVAL Antietam match.

Valerie Smith had 35 assists, Nikki Siefert had 16 kills, Jenny Nalley had 15 kills and 20 digs and Casey Lowe added 19 digs and 15 service points for the Leopards (4-9, 3-3).

Amanda Jenkins had 18 kills, Emily Pinkham had eight kills, nine blocks and five aces and Lynsee Vincent had eight kills and six blocks for the Blazers (5-6, 3-3). Katie Blickenstaff had 18 assists and Emily Steinacker had 16 assists.

JV: Smithsburg, 2-0.

Grace 3, Calvary 0

CRESAPTOWN, Md. - Amber Knuckles had 11 service points and eight assists to lead Grace Academy over Calvary Christian, 25-5, 25-20, 25-10, in an MDCC match.

Rebecca Morgan had seven kills and Megan Cox had five kills as the Knights ended the regular season at 15-0 (14-0 MDCC).

Goretti 3, Hancock 1

Gabby Turano had 10 service points, five kills and 26 digs as St. Maria Goretti defeated Hancock, 21-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-20.

Courtney Thompson had 11 service points, four kills and 22 digs and Catie Wolf had 20 service points and 14 digs to lead the Gaels (4-10, 0-5).

Alex Penn had four kills and 26 digs, Natalie Feretti had 16 assists and 10 digs, and Charlotte Riggs added seven service points in the Gaels' victory.

Holley Funk had six kills and 15 assists and Erin Shives had six kills to lead Hancock (2-10).

Shippensburg 3, Waynesboro 2

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Gillian Hollen had 10 kills and Danielle Roxby had seven kills and six blocks as Waynesboro was defeated by Shippensburg, 25-16, 19-25, 25-19, 18-25, 15-8.

Alyssa Toth had seven kills for the Maidens (6-9), while Lindsay McKenzie had five kills and Jill Lininger had eight digs.
