Know more...in 30 seconds about JLG accquisition

October 17, 2006

What's new: Oshkosh Truck Corp. of Wisconsin on Monday officially announced it signed an agreement to acquire global access equipment leader JLG Industries Inc. for $3.2 billion. JLG maintains executive offices in Hagerstown and manufacturing sites in McConnellsburg and Shippensburg in Pennsylvania.

What's next: The deal is expected to create a $6 billion manufacturer of specialty vehicles.

The acquisition, subject to closing conditions, might create limited job shifting due to duplication, but will not mean changes for the vast majority of workers, an Oshkosh spokeswoman said.
