Fire damages heifer barn in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - A fire Saturday afternoon caused $20,000 to $25,000 in damages to a barn here, said Bob Monn, assistant fire chief of the Fayetteville Fire Department.

Monn said the 34-foot-by-96-foot heifer barn at 580 Wilkson Lane in Fayetteville is owned by Evan Burkholder.

The fire is believed to be accidental, Monn said.

Crews were dispatched at 2:21 p.m. and were on scene until 5:21 p.m., he said.

The barn contained hay and fodder, Monn said.

Monn said a Burkholder family member received minor burns, but refused treatment.

Police say they found drugs, $25,344 in house

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police in Chambersburg on Friday found 84 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and $25,344 in cash in a Franklin County residence, police said.

Police said they used a search warrant to enter the residence at 1408 Mountain Shadow Terrace in Fayetteville, Pa.

Police are continuing the investigation.
