October 14, 2006

WILLIAMSPORT, Md. - A Williamsport woman was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine after the Washington County Narcotics Task Force searched her home Tuesday.

Dawn Elizabeth Ferris, 34, of 157 N. Conococheague St., was also charged with possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police said. Another resident, Barry James Alford, 46, was taken into custody on a Baltimore County warrant for a probation violation, police said.

The 11:55 p.m. search was conducted after an investigation of complaints from neighbors of suspected drug activity, police said. "Several large chunks" of crack cocaine, marijuana, paraphernalia and $1,500 in cash were seized, police said.

The task force was assisted in the search by the Washington County Sheriff's Department.
