Downtown Live! Set for Oct. 21

October 13, 2006

Downtown Live!, an outdoor music festival, is planned for Saturday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. It will be held in the first block of South Potomac Street in downtown Hagerstown and will feature 10 bands as well as food and drink specials from local restaurants.

"This event will draw attention to downtown Hagerstown," said event organizer Mike Deming. "The idea behind it is to have a Saturday where multiple restaurants and night spots offer live entertainment and drink specials to encourage the community to come downtown to enjoy dinner and entertainment at multiple establishments."

Downtown restaurants participating in the festival are 43 South, Roccoco, and Michelle's. Bud Light and FM radio station 106.9 EAGLE are sponsoring the event. New restaurants will be opening soon on the first block of South Potomac Street, including Duffy's and Ava's.

According to Tom Riford of the Hagerstown-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, "This sounds like a great festival with a lot of different musical performances. It's always exciting to have events which attract people to Downtown Hagers-town."
