Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County will hold an information session from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17.
Crystal Davis, casework supervisor, and Tracy Mumma, mentor manager, will explain the process by which people may become a Big Brother, Big Sister or Big Couple mentors in both the community-based and school-based programs.
Big Brothers, Big Sisters are matched with their young friends on the basis of compatible interests, geographic location, and a commitment to spend a few hours regularly together, for at least a year in the community-based program. In the school-based program, mentors are matched with students at Bester, Eastern, Fountaindale and Pangborn elementary schools and E. Russell Hicks Middle School. The mentors spend an hour a week at a time convenient to the mentor and the classroom teacher.
