MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A 17-year-old boy was treated at City Hospital in Martinsburg and released after being shot about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at an Oak Street residence, Martinsburg Police Department Lt. T.J. Catlett said.

The boy's identity was not released. The circumstances of the shooting in the eastern side of the city are under investigation, Catlett said. He declined to say whether charges are pending, and did not provide a description of a possible suspect.

The bullet entered and exited the back part of the victim's shoulder, causing what Catlett described to be a "grazing" wound.

The victim, believed to be a Martinsburg High School student, was taken to the hospital by a relative and police were notified, Catlett said.
