North girls pummel Catoctin, remain unbeaten

Allie Snyder and Marie Borland each scored two goals as No. 1 North Hagerstown routed Catoctin 9-1 Monday to run its record to 10-0.

Courtney Whorten had a goal and three assists for the Hubs, who improved to 3-0 in the MVAL Antietam. Alluka Ogle-Moore and Katie Ritter had a goal and an assist each, Amanda Hutzel and Hannah Barton had one goal each and Stephanie Borland had two assists for North.

Stephanie Eyler scored the only goal for Catoctin.

JV: North, 2-0.

No. 2 Smithsburg 7, No. 6 Clear Spring 1

SMITHSBURG - Katie Seifarth had two goals and an assist to lead Smithsburg over Clear Spring in an MVAL Antietam match.

Chelsea Hoover had a goal and two assists for the Leopards (8-1, 5-0), while Danielle Berk, Rachel Wolf, Jenna Burns and Shelby Layman each scored a goal and Cara Jordan added two assists.

Carley Snyder scored for the Blazers, while Beth Andrews had 15 saves.

No. 7 Williamsport 3, Brunswick 1

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Hannah Petro led Williamsport with two goals and an assist in an MVAL Antietam win over Brunswick.

Morgan Smith scored a goal for the Wildcats (4-4-1, 3-1), and Amanda Berry had an assist.

Lacey Martin scored for the Railroaders.

JV: Williamsport 5-0.

No. 5 McConnellsburg 8, Hyndman 0

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Evan Mellott had four goals and one assist as the Spartans shut out Hyndman. Nathan Swope, Logan Wagner and J.J. Grace also scored for McConnellsburg (11-2-1).

North Hagerstown 3, Catoctin 0

THURMONT, Md. - Corey Forsyth, Alex Rauch and Joe House each scored a goal as North Hagerstown blanked Catoctin in an MVAL Antietam match.

The Hubs (6-5, 2-3) outshot Catoctin, 27-7. Catoctin goalkeeper Jacob Rich recorded nine saves.

Clear Spring 3, Smithsburg 2

CLEAR SPRING - Adam Reid, Elliot Reid and Nick Smith each scored a goal for Clear Spring in an MVAL Antietam victory over Smithsburg.

Andrew Beadle had 16 saves and the Blazers (6-4, 2-2).

David Kurz and Josh Edwards each scored a goal for the Leopards.

JV: Smithsburg, 7-0.

Boonsboro 3, South 2

Nick Stitely scored game-tying and game-winning goals in the the final two minutes and Boonsboro defeated South Hagerstown in an MVAL Antietam game.

Shane Lowery scored the first goal for the Warriors (5-6, 2-4) in the final four minutes.

Eric Nankeu had a goal and an assist, John Barrera had a goal and Jason David had 15 saves for the Rebels (2-7, 1-2).

JV: Boonboro, 1-0.

Brunswick 2, Williamsport 1

WILLIAMSPORT - Edwin Reyes scored a goal and Derek Munro had eight saves for Williamsport (3-4, 2-3) in an MVAL Antietam loss to Brunswick.

No. 5 J. Buchanan 3, Shippensburg 0

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Leah Witter had 14 service points to lead James Buchanan over Shippensburg, 25-20, 25-16, 25-17.

Amy Heisey had seven kills for the Rockets (10-2), and Ashley Zimmerman had 20 assists.

No. 7 Boonsboro 3, Brunswick 0

BRUNSWICK, Md. - Tara Garver had nine kills, three aces and six digs as Boonsboro defeated Brunswick, 25-16, 25-18, 25-11, in an MVAL Antietam match.

Katie Gantz led the Warriors (6-3, 1-1) with eight kills, four aces and six digs, while Amber Nalley added eight digs.

Broadfording 3, Hancock 0

Danielle Dubois had 10 kills and Rebecca Adams had 19 assist as Broadfording defeated Hancock 25-23, 25-19, 25-21 in a nonconference game.

Emily Ahalt had 17 service points for the Lions.

Brittany Radcliff had nine service points for the Panthers (2-8).
