KNOXVILLE, Md. - Two Middletown, Md., residents died Saturday night in a crash in Frederick County, Md., according to Frederick County Sheriff's deputies.

The crash on Tritapoe Drive at Western Avenue involved a vehicle driven by Christopher L. Hill, 22, of Middletown. Police said Hill died in the crash along with one of his three passengers, Amanda L. Sines, 17, also of Middletown.

Two other passengers, both Knoxville residents, Heather M. Lear, 18, and Matthew David Young, 19, were treated at area hospitals and released, police said.

Hill was driving a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse on Tritapoe Drive, approaching Western Avenue, when he lost control while turning, police said. He hit two parked vehicles, a Ford Bronco and a Jeep Cherokee.

The investigation was continuing.

The crash was the second this month to claim two lives in Frederick County, according to published reports. On Oct. 2 two passengers in a 2005 Jeep Liberty died when they were thrown from the vehicle after it overturned on U.S. 340 west of Mount Zion Road.
