Woman charged with drug possession

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A Martinsburg woman was charged Friday after police seized about 2 1/2 grams of heroin and marijuana paraphernalia from a Martinsburg residence, according to a press release from the Martinsburg Police Department.

Desirae Beitzel, 30, of 110 Morrow Ave., was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, according to the release from Detective S.F. Doyle.

A confidential informant purchased the drug Thursday from Beitzel, according to the release. The heroin seized was found in a large gun safe when members of the Eastern Panhandle Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force searched the residence Friday, according to the release.

Beitzel allegedly told police she had about a half-gram of heroin in her bedroom and recently had sold the drug, according to the release.
