American Association of University Women

Hagerstown Branch, Wednesday, Oct. 11, 7 p.m., Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, City Park, Hagerstown. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the museum, Meg Dameron, curatorial coordinator, will speak about the history of the museum and AAUW's role in that history. Artworks donated by AAUW will be displayed and the latest AAUW donation by Ski Holm, who will be present, will be presented to the museum. Light refreshments.

Franklin County Art Alliance

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -Wednesday, Oct. 11, business meeting at 7:15 p.m., followed by program, Wilson College Science Center Auditorium. The program will feature a presentation by Gary Kachadourian, arts administrator for Baltimore City, whose artwork includes wood carvings and artist's books. The public is welcome to attend.

Taldi Walter, Alaska field coordinator with National Audubon Society's Washington, D.C., Policy Office, will present a program on the importance of Alaska's natural areas to wildlife and American public. The public is invited.

Pancake breakfast

MAUGANSVILLE - Saturday, Oct. 7, 6 to 11 a.m., Maugansville Ruritan Club, 18007 Maugans Ave. Menu includes sausage, juice, milk or coffee and all the pancakes you care to eat. Cost is $4, adults; $3.50, ages 6 to 12; and ages younger than 6 eat free. Tickets available at the door. Proceeds benefit Boy Scout Troop 64.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Saturday, Oct. 7, 4 to 7 p.m., Faith United Methodist Church, 104 N. Potomac St. Tickets for the all-you-can-eat dinner are $8, adults; $5, ages 4 to 12; free for ages 3 and younger. Proceeds will go toward various church projects.

Harvest Hoe Down

FAIRPLAY - Saturday, Oct. 7, 4 to 7 p.m., Salem Lutheran Church Brill Hall, Bakersville, south of Fairplay. The event includes pony rides, games, music by the Country Friends, cakewalk, slippery potpie and hot dogs. Proceeds benefit the local needy family fund.
