MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - A man was struck by a vehicle and killed Wednesday when he walked into the eastbound lanes of traffic on Apple Harvest Drive near Kmart in Martinsburg, W.Va., police said.
According to a Berkeley County Sheriff's Department press release, Marshell Peck was pronounced dead at the scene in the 14000 block of Apple Harvest Drive after being struck at 7:42 p.m.
Police did not release a hometown for Peck, who they said was in his 60s.
After the accident, the east-bound lanes were shut down, police said.
The investigation was continuing late Wednesday.
