Town wants water tank capacity upped

SMITHSBURG - The Smithsburg Town Council moved to increase the capacity of a proposed new water storage tank to 350,000 gallons at its Tuesday night meeting.

Relocating bus stopsuggested to board

SMITHSBURG - Town Councilman Tom Chiarizia said that at a meeting in September, the Geiser Way Committee met to discuss possible solutions to speeding on Geiser Way and a potentially dangerous bus stop on Cave Hill Road.

Chiarizia sent a letter, which was approved by the council, to the Board of Education, asking the board to consider moving the bus stop on Cave Hill Road to the intersection of Eagle's Ridge and Geiser Way.

Other suggestions presented by the committee were installing a radar camera, dividers in the middle of the road, stop signs and crosswalks to slow traffic, Chiarizia said.
