Rams third in WVIAC Central

DAVIS, W.Va. - Fairmont State fired a 10-under-par 278 to win the WVIAC Central Tournament at Canaan Valley Resort. The Falcons' 36-hole total of 567 outdistanced Charleston by seven shots. Shepherd finished third at 589.

Brian Snow shot a 2-under 142, tying for fourth place individually, to lead the Rams.

Waynesboro's Shank leads women

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Theresa Shank of Waynesboro, Pa., was the women's champion at the Chambersburg YMCA Triathlon Club's Sprint Triathlon on Saturday.

Shank covered the course - 500-yard swim, 15-mile bike, 3.1-mile run - in 1 hour, 33 minutes, 56 seconds. Patty Stevens of Chambersburg, Pa., was the runner-up in 1:35:04, and Sara Myers took third in 1:40:42.

Chandler Carranza of Harrisburg, Pa., was the champ in the men's race - which had a 500-meter swim, but the same bike and run legs as the women's event - in 1:25:33. Kevin List was second in 1:26:10 and Mark Peters took third in 1:36:02.
