October 03, 2006|by MARLO BARNHART

CLEAR SPRING - A one-term councilman and a past councilman were the only candidates to file for two seats that are up for grabs this year in the Nov. 6 Clear Spring town election.

Current Councilman Steve Blickenstaff, 43, has filed for the vice mayor position, currently held by Terry Baker, a candidate for Washington County Commissioner.

Baker, 51, didn't file to run again in the Clear Spring election. The lone candidate for the council seat is Stewart Brennan, 86, who served on the Clear Spring Town Council from 1983-86.

Prospective candidates had until Monday at 9 p.m. to file.

The town election is set for Monday, Nov. 6, at town hall from 2 to 7 p.m. Kids Vote will be at the same time.
