October 02, 2006

The offramp from northbound I-81 to eastbound Halfway Boulevard will be closed Tuesday at 10 p.m. and remain closed through 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to a press release from the Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration.

A crew will be replacing damaged curbs and gutters, repairing the sidewalk at the top of the ramp along eastbound Halfway Boulevard and a damaged inlet, and relocating an electrical hand box. Motorists will be detoured north to exit 6B off U.S. 40, then directed to I-81 south at Exit 5B.

Signs and cones will be used to help direct motorists.

Rommel Engineering and Construction Inc. of Odenton, Md., and Manns Construction Inc. of Hancock will be doing the work.
