Williamsport's Lilley runs to victory

LEESBURG, Va. - Williamsport's Michael Lilley topped a field of 296 runners to win a title at the Oatlands Invitational.

Lilley covered the 3.1-mile course in 16:53.

Williamsport's Justin Cole was third in 17:06.

In the girls race, Williamsport's Jordan Atha placed 10th out of 198 in 20:50.

Carlisle Invitational

CARLISLE, Pa. - James Buchanan's Lindsey Hollenshead placed third out of 282 runners in the Girls Champions race at the 14th annual Carlisle Invitational, covering the 3.1-mile course in 19:13.

Chambersburg's Sarah Morrison, the defending champion, finished eighth out of 142 in the Girls Challenge race in 19:13. Also for Chambersburg, which finished seventh in the team standings, Haley Thomas was 22nd in 19:37.


Greencastle-Antrim's Tim Wertner was 34th (16:47), McConnellsburg's Chris Snyder 40th (16:49) and Chambersburg's Channon Riggs 55th (17:02) out of 164 in the Boys Challenge.


No. 1 Jefferson 4, East Fairmont 0

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. - Graham Sutherland, Adam Roque and Matt Tiano had a goal and an assist apiece as Jefferson shut out East Fairmont to remain undefeated.

Chris Lambert also scored a goal while Aaron Kelly and Jeff Nelson added an assist each for the Cougars (13-0-1).

No. 5 McConnellsburg 2, Conemaugh Township 1

DAVIDSVILLE, Pa. - Evan Mellott scored on a Tyler Swisher assist to break a 1-1 tie and lead McConnellsburg to the win.

Jared Appleby scored on an assist from Jared Diffenderfer for the Spartans (10-0).

Mercersburg 2, Lawrenceville 1

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Logan Craig's goal with 21 minutes left in the game put Mercersburg Academy ahead for good.

Jordon Exeter scored Mercersburg's first goal, while Dan Gottlieb and Chris Marston added an assist each for the Storm (4-3).

Martin Drolet opened the scoring with a goal for Lawrenceville (4-2) on an assist from Tolly Krusen.

Maret 3, St. James 0

ST. JAMES - The Saints (2-6-1, 0-5 MAC) were outshot 16-10 in a shutout loss to Maret.


No. 1 North 4, No. 5 Martinsburg 0

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Maria Borland scored two goals to lead North Hagerstown to a shutout of Martinsburg (6-7-2).

Katie Ritter and Courtney Whorten added a goal each, Carly Colella had an assist and Lindsay Irvin recorded five saves in goal for the Hubs (7-0).

St. James 2, Highland School 0

WARRENTON, Va. - Ashley Martin and Kylen Ford each scored goal to lead St. James past host Highland School.

Gina Clatt had an assist and Erica Riley had four saves for the shutout for the Saints (8-3-1).

Lawrenceville 8, Mercersburg 1

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Mary Lancaster scored Mercersburg's lone goal, her fourth goal of the season.


Lawrenceville 3, Mercersburg 2

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Whitney Davis had 19 service points and 19 digs but Mercersburg Academy fell to Lawrenceville 22-25, 21-25, 26-24, 25-21, 15-10 in a Mid-Atlantic Prep League match.

Cree Riley added 13 kills for the Blue Storm (4-4).
