The issue: North Hagerstown High School, which has been without its own stadium since it was built 50 years ago, is building Mike Callas Stadium. The North High Stadium Committee has been seeking donations to make the stadium a reality.

What happened: On Friday, representatives of the two top donors got a sneak peek at the stadium, which is nearing completion. Jack Metzner represented Conservit Inc., which donated $250,000 for naming rights to the field, and Bob Kersten represented Maryland Metals, which put up $100,000 for the scoreboard, which will be the state's largest free-standing scoreboard at a high school stadium.

What's next: North High hopes to dedicate the stadium on Nov. 3, when the Hubs are scheduled to play Catoctin in the team's last home game of the season.
