Blue Oyster Cult

Hispanic celebration

Independent Bible Church will host its fifth annual Hispanic celebration. Activities include a soccer tournament with visiting players from the metro D.C. area (registration today at 6 p.m.), basketball, volleyball, music by Hispano En Cristo, and speaker Enrique Depaz. Will Pananes

Steam Engine & Craft Show

The 32nd annual Smithsburg Steam Engine & Craft Show features wheat threshing, straw baling and antique mill demonstrations, and more than 100 craft and flea market vendors. Artillery weekend

The 18th Century Artillery Weekend will feature park staff and volunteers demonstrating the loading and firing of a British six-pound cannon of the French and Indian War period. Cannon firing demonstrations, as well as programs explaining the significance of artillery in the history of Fort Frederick.
