September 29, 2006|by DON AINES

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Borough police and Franklin County Coroner Jeffrey R. Conner were investigating the death of a man Thursday night whose vehicle crashed onto the Frick Co. property.

Sgt. Michael Bock said Conner and investigators were trying to determine whether the man died as a result of the accident or a medical problem.

Bock said the accident happened after 7 p.m. when the white car the man was driving left the parking lot of the VFW post on West Main Street. The car went north across the street, through a fence and down an embankment before going over a wall and landing on its roof, Bock said.

Bock described the driver as elderly and said the man was alone in the car.

West Main Street was closed Thursday night while the crash was being investigated.
