City police probe woman's death

September 27, 2006

The Hagerstown Police Department is investigating the death of a 21-year-old woman found dead Monday in her home on Clarendon Avenue, Sgt. David Long said Tuesday.

According to Long, police are awaiting the results of an autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, which he estimated could take two weeks.

The woman's body was found in the home in the 400 block of Clarendon Avenue about 3:45 p.m., Long said.

Long said police believe the death might have been caused by a drug overdose, and it was "absolutely not" related to foul play. He refused to release the woman's name.
