Whether locally or in the state capital, the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce serves businesses and organizations by providing programs and services designed to meet the business and professional needs of its members.

It lobbies for local business interests in Annapolis and includes a mission of promoting efforts to make the community a great place to live and work.

Chamber officials list its focus as being threefold: Serve its members, support the community and advocate for business.

The Chamber serves its members through education and networking programs, providing promotion and marketing opportunities as well as special products and services. It highlights the business community and recognizes outstanding business contributions.

The Chamber hosts evening mixers, breakfast meetings, book club discussions, and brown bag lunch symposia. It also holds forums related to education and government.

The Chamber publishes a Business Directory that reaches more than 2,500 business leaders and consumers, produces the monthly Connect newsletter, and distributes an electronic weekly Chamber Update. It promotes the Member-to-Member Benefits program, in which members offer discounted products and services to fellow members.

The Chamber has 575 members and a staff of four.

Business hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
