Runway expansion project continues at airport

A commuter airline at Hagerstown Regional Airport-Richard A. Henson Field provides flights to Pittsburgh International Airport.

USAirways Express offers three daily flights to and from Pittsburgh International Airport.

The airport is extending Runway 9-27 to 7,000 feet. The $60.2 million project is expected to be completed in late 2007.

The airport recently finished expanding its passenger holding area. With about 1,500 square feet, it includes seating for about 50 people, a covered walkway and restrooms.

Three rental car agencies provide service at Hagers-town Regional Airport. They are Avis, Budget and Hertz.

Pilot services

There are about 25 business operations at the airport.
