Public invited to church book discussion group

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - The Trinity United Church of Christ book discussion group has finalized the selections for the 2006-07 Sunday school year. The group meets from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Sunday mornings from September through mid-June in the church's parlor, 30 W. North St. The group is open to anyone interested in reading and sharing discussion on the selected books throughout the year.

The following books have been selected: "Our Endangered Values: America's Moral Crisis" by Jimmy Carter; "A Short History of Progress" by Ronald Wright; "Applebee's America: How Successful Political, Business and Religious Leaders Connect with the New American Community" by Douglas Sosnik, Matthew Dowd, and Ron Fournier; "A New Kind of Christian" by Brian McLauren; "A Credible Jesus" by Robert Funk; "The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the 21st Century" by Thomas L. Friedman; "Jesus: A Revolutionary Biography" by John Dominic Crossan; and "The Spiral Staircase: My Climb Out of Darkness" by Karen Armstrong.
