How did you get into your business, or what motivated you to start it?: "My motivation comes from several sources. I was a member of a local Curves franchise and enjoyed the program and people immensely. My aunt, Bonnie Meyers, who is now managing our franchise encouraged me to open a Curves. She worked at other local Curve franchises for the past eight years.

"Most of my motivation comes from my martial arts background, which has inspired me to empower women to be confident with themselves and take control of their health.

"I've been a student of Four Star Karate in Williamsport for 10 years. I received my 2nd-degree black belt approximately three years ago under the instruction of Bob Sanberg and Leesa Buckley. Both of them have been a huge inspiration in my life."

Previous business experience: "I currently work at First Data as a project leader. I've been employed at First Data for almost 21 years. I assist with instructing tae kwon do at Four Star when needed."

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.
