PREP FOOTBALL



CAMP HILL, Pa. - Mike DeTemple passed for 178 yards and a touchdown to lead Camp Hill to a 25-14 victory over James Buchanan in the Mid-Penn Capital opener for both teams Friday night.

With the game tied 8-8, James Buchanan fumbled the opening kickoff of the second half. Camp Hill (3-1, 1-0) recovered and scored on the following play. On James Buchanan's next possession, Camp Hill's Trevor Polly recovered a fumble in the end zone to give the Lions a 22-8 lead. Polly also had two interceptions in the game.

Jesse Smartt connected with Tyler Corrales for a 45-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter for the Rockets (1-3, 0-1). Justin Lee opened the scoring with an 8-yard touchdown run in the first.

Fort Hill 39, Musselman 14

CUMBERLAND, Md. - Scott Rice and Drew Yurko each ran for a pair of touchdowns for Fort Hill as the Sentinels amassed 464 yards of total offense, including 392 rushing yards, in a win over Musselman.

Corey Taylor and Richie Shook also added a TD run apiece for Fort Hill (3-0).

Ethan French scored on a 63-yard run while Shontell Jackson added a rushing touchdown for the Applemen (1-4), who were intercepted twice and lost two fumbles in the game.




BOYS SOCCER



No. 2 Jefferson 5, Musselman 1

MUSSELMAN, W.Va. - Matt Tiano, D.J. Upson, Derek Walls and Zach Creamer each scored in Jefferson's win over Musselman.

Upson and Chris Lambert each had two assists for the Cougars (11-0-1).

Trevor Dusing scored for the Applemen.

Jefferson's fifth goal was an own goal by Musselman.

No. 5 McConnellsburg 4, Shalom 3

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Evan Mellott scored three goals, including a penalty kick, to lead McConnellsburg over Shalom Christian Academy.

Matt Kendall scored for the Spartans (8-0), while Joe Cahferdon and Tyler Swisher each had an assist.

Jae Cheon scored two goals for Shalom, while Derek Oberholzer had one. Joe Horner had 10 saves for the Flames (6-2).

On Wednesday, Mellott scored two goals as McConnellsburg beat Forbes Road, 2-0.

James Buchanan 6, Milton Hershey 2

HERSHEY, Pa. - Dion Lehman had two goals and two assists and Zach Hampson had two goals and an assist for James Buchanan.

Brandon Bard and Cory Zimmerman had a goal and an assist apiece, Andrew Puckett and Kris Potter each had an assist and James Nardi recorded four saves for the Rockets.




GIRLS SOCCER



Martinsburg 4, East Fairmont 2

FAIRMONT, W.Va. - Kristen Marshall scored two goals as Martinsburg defeated East Fairmont.

Alaina Heck had a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs (4-6-2), and Amy Wright scored a goal.

Jaime Hill had three assists and Carolyn Gore had 11 saves in the victory.

McConnellsburg 12, Grier 0

TYRONE, Pa. - Erin Chafardon scored three goals and Sam McQuade made eight saves for her first varsity shutout as McConnellsburg routed Grier.

Myrissa Peck, Casey Pollock, Lauren DeShong and Klarissia DeShong each had two goals and Tessa McGarvey added one for the Spartans (6-2).




PREP VOLLEYBALL



Broadfording 3, Mount View 0

Becca Adams led Broadfording Christian Academy with 18 assists, 12 service points and three aces as the Lions swept Mount View, 25-16, 25-10, 25-17.

Sierra Litten had 10 service points, five aces and five kills while Jessica Spielman had 10 service points and five aces and Danielle DuBois added eight service points, five aces and seven kills. Emily Ahalt recorded nine kills, seven service points and four aces for the Lions (6-3).
