The Dieterichs

Charles and Grace Dieterich of Sunflower Drive, South Pointe in Hagerstown, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at their home. Friends and family attended the event.

The Dieterichs were married Aug. 16, 1941, in Hagerstown.

Mr. Dieterich retired from Mack Trucks in 1982.

The Weagleys

Ralph and Elta Weagley of Hagerstown recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a surprise party hosted by their family. The Weagleys were surprised by 132 friends and family members from Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maine, Florida, Texas, Illinois and Alaska.

Mrs. Weagley was originally from Lovell, Maine, and Mr. Weagley is a Hagerstown native.

The Weagleys were married July 23, 1956, in Florida.

They have four children, Roy Weagley, Vickie Dom, Randy Weagley and Tina Snider. They also have six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The Anthonys

Tom and Yvonne Anthony of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Friday, April 14, 2006, with a buffet dinner in their honor at the Dutch's Daughter Restaurant in Frederick, Md. More than 60 friends and family members attended the event.


They are the parents of Craig and Joyce Anthony, Curt Anthony and Karen Stamper. They also have seven grandchildren, Justin Anthony and Jordan Anthony; and Milton Stamper, Heidi Stamper, Heather Stamper, Hamilton Stamper and Kara Stamper.

The Anthonys were married April 14, 1956, at Bethel Evangelical United Brethren Church (now Bethel United Methodist Church) in Chewsville by the Rev. D. Homer Kendall.

Mr. Anthony is an agent for National Life Insurance Co., of Vermont and has owned Anthony Financial Services for 45 years.

Mrs. Anthony is a homemaker and has been associated with Anthony Financial Services for 37 years.

The Abdullahs

Louise and Adel "Ab" Abdullah of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at a gathering of their children and grandchildren at the Longmeadow Rotary Park on Northern Avenue, where the family dedicated a new section in their honor. The ceremony was followed by a surprise champagne lunch at their home on Fountainhead Road. Their children came from Reston, Va., Freeland, Md., Milledgeville, Ga., and Bloomington, Ind.

The Abdullahs were married in Cleveland, Ohio, where they lived while Adel Abdullah worked at the Cleveland Clinic. They were in California for two years before they moved to Hagerstown.
