Adams County man is charged in wife's slaying

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - An Adams County man has been charged with the shooting death of his wife Thursday night at their Mount Joy Township home, according to Pennsylvania State Police in Gettysburg.

Todd Michael Rynard, 39, of Hood Drive, was charged with criminal homicide and possessing instruments of a crime in the shotgun killing of 44-year-old Gwen Josey Rynard, police said. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Mark Beauchat and jailed without bond in Adams County Prison, police said.

Police said Gwen Rynard was shot twice with a shotgun shortly before midnight. Todd Rynard turned himself in at the Gettysburg barrack, police said.

The investigation continues, but police said that Todd Rynard acted alone.

An autopsy is scheduled for today at the Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown, Pa., police said.
