BOONSBORO - The No. 3 Boonsboro girls soccer team hadn't played a match since Sept. 12, and sophomore Lauren Hensley quickly made up for lost time against No. 5 Clear Spring in their MVAL Antietam opener.

Hensley scored three goals in the first 10 minutes and the Warriors rolled to a 7-1 victory Thursday night.

"My team was giving me real good balls," Hensley said. "I just looked to where I just wanted to shoot, and I just put them in there. I'm happy that I was able to help out my team. I think we have real good passing. We work really well together. We came out strong."

Hensley gave Boonsboro a quick 3-0 lead on two assists by Jamie Bingamen and another assist from Whitney Sheppard.

"It was our first game in nine days, so we came out ready to play," Boonsboro coach Kyle Lingg said. "Our game plan was to establish control during the first 10 minutes. We were able to execute our game plan. Lauren Hensley was aggressive and she was in the right position to score. She helped us to establish control early."

Katie Reese, Danielle Daughtridge and Danyelle Fulks each had a goal and Jenny Angle and Jessica Jordan each had an assist as Boonsboro (4-1, 1-0) took a 6-0 halftime lead.

Reese scored the Warriors' final goal in the 48th minute on an assist by Hensley.

Carley Snyder scored unassisted with about a minute left for Clear Spring (2-2, 0-1).

The JV game ended in a scoreless tie.
