The AARP Driver Safety Program, sponsored by the Washington County Commission on Aging, will be offered Wednesday, Sept. 20, and Thursday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Haven Road Lutheran Church, 1035 Haven Road, Hagerstown.
The program is offered as an eight-hour classroom workshop, taken over two days. Participants must complete both days to receive a certificate. The instructor is Richard Mooers.
The course costs $10. Checks are to be made out to AARP. If class is cancelled, those who have enrolled will be notified. The fees will be returned or held for the next scheduled class.
The course is designed to help drivers improve their skills and prevent traffic accidents.
The program is approved in every state. Insurance companies in some states provide premium reductions to those who have taken the course.
