HCC sweeps JuCo match with Garrett

Karey Toms had 10 kills, eight digs and six aces to lead Hagerstown Community College to a 30-11, 30-20, 30-25 sweep of Garrett in a Maryland JuCo Conference match Monday at the HCC athletic complex.

Sammi Snodderly had 11 kills, Kim Snavely had 11 digs and five aces and Jess Ambrose added 17 assists for the Hawks (9-4, 2-0).


Shepherd pair gains conference honors

PRINCETON, W.Va. - Freshman forward Gregory Khan of the Shepherd University men's soccer team and sophomore forward/midfielder Stephanie Schroeder of the Rams women's soccer team earned weekly honors from the West Virginia Conference. Khan was named WVIAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week, while Schroeder gained WVIAC Women's Soccer Co-Player of the Week accolades.

Khan scored the match's only goal in a 1-0 league victory over West Virginia Wesleyan. He also added an assist in a 3-2 loss to Seton Hill.


Schroeder had four goals and an assist during Shepherd's wins over Southern Virginia and Bridgewater. She had a pair of goals in each Ram victory. Schroeder shared the honors with Wheeling Jesuit goalkeeper Jessica Park.
