One driver charged with DUI in sobriety checkpoint

The Washington County Sheriff's Department set up a sobriety checkpoint starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, the department said in a news release.

The checkpoint, which was on Dual Highway at Crestview Road, west of Edgewood Drive, lasted until 1 a.m. on Saturday.

The sheriff's department said 792 motor vehicles passed through the checkpoint.

Five drivers were stopped to take sobriety tests. One driver was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.
