SCORE's fall Millennium Small Business Series will consist of four individual sessions on consecutive Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Hagerstown Community College's Valley Mall Center.

Topics are:

· Oct. 5 - "Planning for Success: Select and Open Your New Business."

· Oct. 12. - "Organize Your Small Business: Manage It Effectively."

· Oct. 19 - "Finding the Money for Start-Up and Next-Level Financing."

· Oct. 26 - "Grow Your Small Business with Marketing/Sales and Advertising Techniques."


Cost is $49 for all four sessions and $19 for individual sessions. A workbook is provided at no extra charge.

Bowers Insurance

Bowers Insurance will host two dinner seminars on Oct. 11 and 12 titled "But What If I Live: The American Retirement Crisis."

Each session of the workshop, which is geared toward those nearing and recently into retirement, will be at the Red Horse Steakhouse, at 1800 Dual Highway in Hagerstown, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Each workshop will feature a presentation by Brad Crawford, regional vice president for Jackson National Life.
