Nomination forms are available at the foundation's Web site.
The deadline for nominations is Oct. 6.
Five judges will pick the winners - Lieba Cohen, the executive director of the Hagerstown Community College Foundation; J. Herbert Hardin, a retired teacher and principal; Maureen Grove, the executive director of Girls Inc.; David Engel, the director of the Washington County Department of Social Services; and Bob Maginnis, the editorial pages editor of The Herald-Mail.
The foundation will honor the winners Nov. 9 at a banquet at the Four Points Sheraton on Dual Highway.
Last year's winners were Hugh Brandenburg, John Long and Rollan Myers.
Brandenburg logged at least 40,000 hours as a volunteer at the Western Maryland Hospital Center. He chose the center's auxiliary as the beneficiary of the $5,000 endowment in his name.
Long, who died in March, primarily was responsible for creating and maintaining the railroad museum at City Park in Hagerstown. He picked the Humane Society of Washington County as a beneficiary.
Myers pledged his endowment fund to Arc of Washington County, which he served for more than 30 years.
