Gala will benefit Discovery Station



Discovery Station Gala will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Discovery Station, 101 W. Washington St., Hagerstown.

The event includes hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, silent and live auctions and more. The cost is $35 per person and the attire is business casual. A limited number of reservations are available. Proceeds will help Discovery Station.

German music featured at meeting



WAYNESBORO, Pa .- Keith Brintzenhoff, a Commonwealth Speaker for the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, presents "The Music, Dance and Instruments of the Pennsylvania Germans" at the Waynesboro Historical Society's meeting on Tuesday, September 12. Dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Hess Community Room at Minnich Manor at Quincy Village, followed by the program at 7:45 p.m. The presentation, which is free of charge and open to the public, will include traditional Pennsylvania German music and entertainment. The dinner costs $12. Reservations and payment are due Monday, Sept. 4.
