City Park, Hagerstown, New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church will hold Outreach Ministries from 1 to 3 p.m. this Sunday.

There will be free music, a message, water, snacks and books.

Potomac Park Camp, Falling Waters, W.Va., homecoming services today and Sunday will feature the Rev. Jay B. Oaks. There will be special music by Scott and Christi Rainey.

Today's events will begin with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Oaks will also lead the 6 p.m. service.

On Sunday, Oaks will conduct the 10 a.m. service and speak with the Rev. Stephen Fountain at the 6 p.m. service.

New Day Ministries, Church and Green streets, Middletown, Lisa Brown will be guest speaker at the Aglow International Community Lighthouse of Middletown Valley Tuesday, Sept. 5, from 7 to 9 p.m.


St. James Lutheran Church, Uvilla, W.Va., a homecoming celebration linked to the 150th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone will be held Sept. 8-10.

A traditional hymn sing will begin on Friday at 7:30 p.m. followed by a dessert reception in the fellowship hall.

On Saturday at 4 p.m., an old fashioned picnic will be held on the church grounds under the tents and pavilion. A buffet of foods, games and fun will take place along with music from the Parish Pipers.

The Rev. Ralph Dunkin, bishop of the West Virginia-Western Maryland Synod, will be officiating the traditional homecoming Service on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. A buffet dinner will follow.

A booklet, documenting the history of St. James, will be on display. The afternoon will include viewing many old photos and the sharing of memories.

St. Paul's Reformed Church, east of Clear Spring, a fun fest will be held Saturday, Sept. 9 from 3 to 6 p.m.

There will be free food, free games and continuous gospel music throughout the event.

Ernie Bradley and Grassy Ridge will conclude the day at 7 p.m. in the church.

Wolfsville Ruritan Park, the 47th annual Lord's Acre Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, beginning at 4 p.m.

Sponsored by the Salem United Methodist Church, the event includes the sale of garden produce and plants, preserves, needlework and handcrafted items.

Food of all varieties will be on sale for eating at the park or at home. There will be a flea market and used book sale.

Music will be provided by Harmony Road and the Jason Bearinger Band from Cumberland.

There will be a quilt auction at 8 p.m.

State Line (Pa.) United Methodist Church, the chicken corn soup festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In addition to soup, there will be hamburgers, hot dogs and pies. Activities are planned for children and there will be crafts for sale.

Mount Zion Church, 14336 Greencastle Pike, Cearfoss, the Rev. Hayden Sparks will be guest speaker at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Contributions will be received for the continued care and maintenance of the adjoining cemetery.
