Cold Stone Creamery, Quiznos planned for local shopping center

Cold Stone Creamery and Quiznos are planned for the Crosspoint Shopping Center, Washington County Permits Director Daniel DiVito said.

The shopping center is in Halfway, across from Valley Mall. Other stores in the center include Target, Michaels Arts and Crafts and Kohl's.

Cold Stone Creamery, based in Scottsdale, Ariz., has 1,350 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, Japan and Korea. The stores make its ice cream and sorbet on site daily, according to information provided by the company.

Customers choose premium or light ice cream or sorbet and mix-ins, which include chocolate candy, sprinkles, nuts and fruits. The selections then are mixed by an employee and scooped into a waffle cone or bowl or formed into a cake, according to the company.

Shakes and smoothies also are available.

Cold Stone Creamery's Web site states a Hagerstown store is opening soon, but no more information was available Friday.

Quiznos' first shop opened in Denver in 1981. Today, there are more than 3,000 shops in 15 countries, according to its Web site.

No more information was available about Quiznos on Friday.
