Rain clouds over Suns

September 02, 2006

As tough as it has been on the Hagerstown Suns this season, it was real clouds that put them out of Friday's game with Delmarva.

Heavy rains caused by Ernesto postponed Friday's game, which will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Sunday, beginning at 5:35 p.m.

Tickets for Friday's game can be redeemed as a rain check for any remaining 2006 game. Since there are only three dates remaining this season, tickets may also be exchanged for any game in April 2007 with the exception of any Feed-Your-Face game promotions.

The Suns will host Delmarva today at 7 p.m.

Shorebirds will play the first game of the final series in 2006 at 7:05 p.m. Each of the first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a Suns T-shirt, presented by Susquehanna Bank & NBC 25. This special t-shirt commemorates a time when the Wolf Furniture Picnic Patio was once called the "Nellie Fox Picnic Porch". Nelson Fox was the 1959 A.L.M.V.P. for the Chicago "Go-Go" White Sox and a native of St. Thomas, PA. The diminutive shortstop was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1997 and struck out an astonishingly low 216 times in 19 Major League seasons while collecting 2600+ hits.
