Over the past 26 years, the club has distributed more than $1.23 million to charities benefiting Hagerstown and Washington County youths and adults.
"This is our reward for all the hard work of the committees and members of Rotary," said Rotary Foundation President Robert E. Ernst II, who made the presentations Aug. 16 at a Rotary meeting.
Three organizations received $4,000 each. The Boys & Girls Club will use its award to replace a furnace, Discovery Station will put the money toward a media gallery and the Community Free Clinic will use its award to help fund computer network equipment.
Along with Ernst, foundation members include at-large member Tim Wilson, treasurer Darrell Fowler, secretary Dennis Rocco and vice president Frank Erck. All are past Rotary presidents.
