Rita's Ices, Cones, Shakes and Other Cool Stuff has opened its second store in Hagerstown, at 17220 Virginia Ave.

The new Rita's is owned and operated by Dennis and Cindy Myers, who also own the Rita's at 1313 Pennsylvania Ave.

Rita's is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Noland Company

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Noland Company, a plumbing and air conditioning distributor operating in Chambersburg since 2000, is moving into newly remodeled facilities.

The branch is a part of the Hagerstown complex. Paul Banister, manager of the complex, said that continuing business development caused the firm to outgrow its facility at 409 Grant St.


The new l12,000-square-foot distribution facility is on Sheffler Drive between Wayne Avenue and U.S. 11. The branch operates with a staff of four.

Tower Bancorp

GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Tower Bancorp Inc., parent company of The First National Bank of Greencastle, reported earnings of $1,779,713 or earnings per share of 92 cents for the quarter ended June 30.

For the first six months of 2006, net income was $2,989,784 or $1.62 per share. Return on equity was 10.7 percent for the first six months of 2006.

Greencastle-Antrim Chamber

GREENCAATLE, Pa. - Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce will host an in-house Insurance Day in conjunction with PCI Insurance on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

PCI Regional Account Executive Stephani Peck will be on hand to discuss health-care options from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Chamber at 217 E. Baltimore St. in Greencastle. Appointments must be made in advance.
